The correct order of events of meiosis I of an animal cell include;
1) DNA condenses into chromosomes (prophase)
2)Homologous pairs align to initiate crossover (metaphase)
3) Microtubules pull apart the homologous pairs toward opposite poles (anaphase)
4) Nuclear envelopes develop around the nuclei (telophase)
5) Cytoplasm pinches inward near the cell furrow (cytokinesis)
Meiosis is a process of cell division in which a single cell divides two times to create four daughter cells that contains half the original amount of genetic information of the parent cell. Meiosis occurs in all unicellular and multicellular organisms that reproduce sexually. The two times the cell divides is grouped into Meiosis I and Meiosis II.
