The nurse knows to monitor the patient's iv site for signs of phlebitis. why is it most important to discontinue the iv site if phlebitis is evident?

If the nurse seen an evidence of Phlebitis there’s a need to discontinue because Phlebitis can be dangerous because blood clots can occur. Phlebitis or venitis is the inflammation of a vein, usually in the legs. It most commonly occurs in superficial veins. Phlebitis often occurs in conjunction with thrombosis.
