Given:

Two numbers are 32 and 28.

To find:

The GCF of 32 and 28 and using the GCF find the factor of (32-28).

Solution:

(a)

Two numbers are 32 and 28. The factor form of given numbers are:

32=2* 2* 2* 2* 2

28=2* 2* 7

Clearly, 2 and 2 are common factors in both.

GCF(32,28)=2* 2

GCF(32,28)=4

Therefore, the GCF of 32 and 28 is 4.

(b)

Using the GCF we need to find the factor of (32-28).

32-28=4* 8-4* 7

Taking out the GCF, we get

32-28=4* (8-7)

Therefore,
32-28=4* (8-7).
