In terms of equivalent fractions, once
(5)/(15) is simplified by divided both the numerator and denominator by a common factor (which in this case would be 5) then your simplified fraction would be:
(1)/(3).

But 5/15 when you're dividing would equal a repeating decimal. 0.3333333333333333333333333333

Because 5/15 is not a simplified fraction, seeing that its numerator and denominator both have a common factor, you can simplify it to find an equivalent fraction. To do this, divide 5 from the numerator and denominator and then you would get a result of 1/3.
