They are severely impacting the environment. The hazardous pollutants, such as lead and arsenic, emitted during the mining process are affecting the fish and wildlife habitats in the nearby areas. Apart from impacting wildlife, the mines are polluting the groundwater in our state.Copper mining in Utah has positively affected economic development in the state.
