Answer:

The cost per visit is $1.53 (the option D.)

Explanation:

You know that:

  • Cost to your health per year = $159
  • Number of visits per week = 2

On average, one year can be considered to contain 52 weeks. Then, dividing the amount of the annual cost ($ 159) by the number of weeks you can get the price paid for visits made during a week in a year:

(159)/(52)≅$3.06

Knowing that during one week two visits are made, you can divide the price paid for the week by this amount of visits:

(3.06)/(2) =1.53

Another way to raise the problem is as follows:

As mentioned earlier, there are 52 weeks in a year. And there are 2 visits in 1 week . So in 52 weeks , there will be:

52 weeks*2 visits=104 visits per year

By dividing the price paid annually by the number of visits per year it is possible to obtain the cost of each visit:

(159)/(104) =1.53

As you can see, in both cases the same result is obtained.

Finally, the cost per visit is $1.53 (the option D.)
