It is probably D, "It made colonists proud and unified them in their determination" or it could be B, since at the time, France and the British were at war, and since America was already fighting the British, France might've seen a good chance to help take down the British, as well as France wanted to trade with the American colonies but couldn't, because of Britain and France being at war, and since the colonies were British colonies, no trades.
