The presidential election of 1932 were significant for many reasons and one of them that not one president has lost by such a large margin. Hoover lost in 42 states out of 48 states. What caused this was Hoover belief in the rugged individualism and that government shouldn’t help and because of that he had not intervened at all to lessen the effects of the great depression
