Answer is: the products of the neutralization reaction are salt magnesium chloride (MgCl₂) and water (H₂O).

Balanced chemical reaction:

2HCl(aq) + Mg(OH)₂(aq) → MgCl₂(aq) + 2H₂O(l).

Chemical compound magnesium chloride (MgCl₂) has ionic bond (the electrostatic attraction between oppositely charged ions).

Magnesium transfers two electrons (became positive cation) to chlorine (became negative anion).
