What is the total bill for a purchase of 30.00 with a tax of 5.25% round to the nearest cent

30*1.0525 is 31.575 or $31.58  i added the one in front of it when multiplying because if you do that you don't have to go back and add it to the original

Since your bill is $30 and the tax value is 5.25% of the bill, you would first convert 5.25% to a decimal. This would be 0.0525 since you move the decimal right twice. The next thing you have to do is to find the value of the tax. To do this, multiply the decimal 0.0525 to the bill, 30. This would be about $1.58. Now that you know the tax value, add this to the bill and you get the total amount of the purchase as $31.58 :) Hope this helps!
