oxygen has 16 number proton. so it will be 2.8.6 . to make it stable, oxygen must receive two electron .oxygen can't donate electron because it is in non metal.

oxygen can receive 2 electrons to be full
and can donate 6 electrons to be full
but for oxygen is easier to gain rather than lose
