dogs + cats = 200 eq I
dogs = 56 + cats eq II

replace dogs in eq I

(56 + cats) + cats = 200 eq with one variable

56 + 2c = 200
2c = 200 - 56
2c = 144 /divided 2

cats= 72

dogs = 56 + cats = 56 + 72 = 128

dogs = 126
