The given expression is,

(2.4)/(\square)=-4

Let the unknown number be x, Let us divide each term by -4, we get,

\begin{gathered} (2.4)/(-4x)=-(4)/(-4) \\ (2.4)/(-4x)=(1)/(1) \end{gathered}

On cross mutiplying, we get,

\begin{gathered} (2.4)/(-4x)=(1)/(1) \\ 2.4=-4x \\ x=(2.4)/(-4)=-0.6 \end{gathered}

Thus, the required number is -0.6.
