From the graph, we have two points which are point A and point B

Point A (0, -1), this implies that the negative y axis is -1 and x is 0

Point B (3, 3), this implies that the x and y axis are 3 units each on the graph

A = (0, -1)

B = (3, 3)

Firstly, find the slope

Slope = rise / run

Rise = y2 - y1

Run = x2 - x1

Slope = y2 - y1 / x2 - x1

from the above points

x1 = 0, y1 = -1, x2 = 3, and y2 = 3

slope = 3 - (-1) / 3 - 0

Slope = 3 + 1 / 3

Slope = 4 / 3

slope is 4/3

The slope intercept equation is y = mx + b

Therefore, y - y1 = m(x - x1)

where m = slope = 4/3, x1 = 0 and y1 = -1

y - (-1) = 4/3(x - 0)

open the parentheses

y + 1 = 4/3 * x - 4/3 * 0

y + 1 = 4/3x - 0

Make y the subject of the formula

y = 4/3x - 1

y = 4/3x - 1

The answer is y = 4/3x - 1
