The Indian Removal Act was a law made during President Andrew Jackson's time on 1830. The law authorized the president to grant territory in West of Mississippi in exchange for the Indian lands that were inside the State borders. Some tribes moved to the new territory peacefully but most of them fought the idea of relocating.
