Anna bought a skirt on sale at a clothing store for $54.48. The original price of this skirt was $72.64. She is interested in a pair of leggings which have a tag that reads $11.55.

If the leggings are discounted at the same percentage, what is the discounted price for the leggings? Round the answer to the nearest cent.

Hey!

To find the discounted price for the leggings, we must find the percentage decrease betweem 72.64 and 54.58

{(54.58 - 72.64) / 72.64 ×100] = -25%

So, the skirt was discounted 25% off.

That means the leggings are discounted 25% off as well, so we must find 25% of 11.55:

11.55*25% = 2.8875

11.55 - 2.8875 = 8.6625

So, the discounted price of the leggings was $8.6625. You can round that to make it easier to understand.

And That's Your Answer!
