The equation of a line in the slope intercept form is expressed as

y = mx + c

where

m represents slope

c represents y intercept

Rearranging the equation so that it takes the slope intercept form, it becomes

- 4x + 3y = - 30

3y = 4x - 30

y = 4x/3 - 30/3

y = 4x/3 - 10

The y intercept is - 10

The graph is shown in the attached photo

We can see that the line cuts through the y axis at y = - 10. This is the y intercept

Use intercepts to graph the linear equation -4x + 3y = -30-example-1
