In humans, unattached earlobes are dominant over attached earlobes. Which could be the genotype for someone with attached earlobes? Ee e ee E

The genotype for some with attached earlobes would be ee because unattached earlobes are dominant(EE or Ee) which means attached would be recessive(ee).

Answer: The genotype for the attached earlobes would be ee.

As per the question, unattached earlobes are dominant over attached earlobes ( recessive). A dominant trait is expressed when it has even one dominant gene ( determined by capital letter like Ee here)

On the other hand, a recessive trait is expressed only when the recessive gene ( determined by small letter) is present in the homozygous state ( like ee in this case).

As the attached earlobe is a recessive trait, therefore the only possible genotype for this is 'ee'.
