Mr. Chu is slicing 4 cantaloupe for his class. There are 24 students in the class. If Mr. Chu cuts the cantaloupe to make an equal portion for each student, how much of a whole cantaloupe will each student get?

each student would get 1 / 6th of cantelope because you have to first divide 4 ÷ 24= remembering to do the opposite past the equal sign. so your fraction would be 4 / 1 ÷ 24 / 1. change the divide symbol into a multiplication symbol.

Answer:

Each student get 1/6 cantaloupe

Explanation:

There are 4 cantaloupe

24 students in the class

If the cantaloupe is cut into 24 equal places

Each student will get 4/24 cantaloupe

= 1/6

This means each cantaloupe will be cut into 6 equal places

4 cantaloupe = 6×4 (cut into equal places)

4 cantaloupe= 24( cut into equal places)
