How did the introduction of this animal to the Americas via the Columbian Exchange affect life in the region? The native peoples were given a new source of meat, which resulted in rapid population growth. The native peoples were driven from their lands because the new animals needed grazing land. The native peoples starved because the new animals killed off sources of food. The native peoples were given greater mobility and could expand into new territories.

The answer is: The native peoples were given greater mobility and could expand into new territories.

After introduced to animals that can be used as vehicle, it is far easier for people to move from one place to another. This enable them to seek new environment in case the resources in their previous environment is already diminished and establish new societies at the new territories.
