If Y=-x-6 over 2 is to be rewritten in general form, first remove the fraction by mult. both y and (x-6)/2 by 2:

2y = -x - 6. Put this into the form Ax + By = C.

Add x to both sides: x + 2y = -6. This is the equation in general form.
