Would Wegener have been more or less successful in convincing scientists today than he was when he proposed his ideas? Why or why not?

Answer:

Wegener is not successful in convincing the Scientists of the modern era.

Step-by-step explanation:

Wegener has tried to become a meteorologist. He presented the concept of continental drift but not as a first person. He used samples of fossils as an evidence to prove. Instead, he claimed that the mountains form when the boundaries of accumulating continents that are bended.

There is no proper evidence for Wegener to show how the continents would move. He thought that due to the tidal and centrifugal forces the cause of movement of the continents. The objectors note that turning up through oceanic crust would twist continents but not the forces mentioned by the Wegener.

Also to contradict the flaws mentioned by Wegener’s opponents, he made some incorrect assumptions and predictions. This is the main cause behind Wegener’s downfall.

I believe Alfred Wegener would be much more succesful today.
Alfred wegener presented his continental drift hypothesis in 1912, and his idea was dismissed back then (he died in 1930s.)
But after entering 1950s, many scientists started to accepted the idea of the continental drift, which means that the scientific community just only accepted his idea 20 years after his death.
