PLZ HELP!!!! y/-3 = 1/6 what does y equal?

Since y is being divided by -3, and you want y alone, multiply both sides of the equation by -3.

y/-3 = 1/6

-3 * y/(-3) = -3 * 1/6

y = -3/1 * 1/6

y = -3/6

y = -1/2

-3=6y
-3/6=y
-1/2=y
