Italy became involved in Spanish Civil War during the 1930's. Along with Germany, Italy, led by Benito Mussolini, supported the right-wing rebels despite the protests made by England and France because of their involvement to the Spanish Civil War. Benito Mussolini also sold weapons to the right-wing rebels as part of his support despite the Non-Intervention Agreement that Italy has greed upon.
