To find the inverse.

Solve\; x\cdot \:2-36=y \ \textgreater \ \mathrm{Add\:}36\mathrm{\:to\:both\:sides} \ \textgreater \ x\cdot \:2-36+36=y+36

\mathrm{Simplify} \ \textgreater \ x\cdot \:2=y+36 \ \textgreater \ \mathrm{Divide\:both\:sides\:by\:}2 \ \textgreater \ (x\cdot \:2)/(2)=(y)/(2)+(36)/(2)

Simplify again!

x=(y+36)/(2) \ \textgreater \ \mathrm{Subsititute\:}y=x \ \textgreater \ (x+36)/(2)

Therefore\;(x+36)/(2)\;is\;the\;inverse!

Hope this helps!
