joy is reading a 352 page novel for her summer reading project. on Monday she reads 3/8 of the novel. on Tuesday she reads 28 pages and on Wed she reads 1/4. how many more pages does joy have until she finishes the novel

Let :

T = total pages

R = remaining pages

on Monday she reads 3/8 of the novel, so:

3/8*T = 3/8* 352 = 132 pages.

on Tuesday she reads 28 pages

on Wed she reads 1/4. so:

1/4*T = 1/4 * 352 = 88 pages.

The total pages mathematically would be:

T = 132 + 28 + 88 + R

Remember:

T = total pages = 352

R = remaining pages

So, solving for R:

R = T - 132 - 28 - 88 = 352 - 132 - 28 - 88 = 104 pages

Hence, she needs to read 104 pages in order to finish the novel
