When the slope and one point are known, finding the equation of the line is relatively easy.

Start with y-k = m(x-h), where m is the slope and (h,k) is one point on the line. Then

y-0 = (-1/3)(x-(-3)), or y = (-1/3)x - (1/3)(3), or y = (-1/3)x - 1 (answer)

Be sure to check this result! Let x = -3. Does y come out to 0, as it should?
