Write and solve an equation of ratios:
240 lb x
----------------- = ----------
180 cal/mile 36 cal
Cross-multiplying, (240)(36) = 180 x.
Reducing this, (240)(4) = 20x
Reducing this further, (12)(4) = x, or x = 48 lb (answer)

240 lbs / 180 calories ?? lbs / 36 calories
cross multiply and divide
( 240 * 36 ) / 180 = 48 lbs
