I must assume that by "15x2 - 44x - 36" you actually meant "15x^2 - 44x - 36." Use " ^ " to denote exponentiation, please.

One by one, take each of the following sets of possible factors and mult. them out to determine whether the result equals 15x^2 - 44x - 36:

(5x - 9)(3x + 4)
(3x - 4)(5x + 9)
(5x - 18)(3x + 2)
(5x + 18)(3x - 2)

First one: use the "foil" method: (5x)(3x) + 20x - 27x - 36. This does not simplify to
15x^2 - 44x - 36 and so is not the correct choice. Go on to the second answer choice and continue this check.
