Since Parliament took a whole SERIES of actions in response to the Boston Tea Party. But yes, it happened because of basically the Boston Tea Party...

The intolerable acts were passed by the king of england after the Boston Tea Party. England closed off The port of Boston and this led American to be further frustrated by England.
