(3x^2 + 8x - 7) - (5x^2 + 2x - 11)
= 3x^2 + 8x - 7 - 5x^2 - 2x + 11
= (3x^2 - 5x^2) + (8x - 2x) + (11-7)
= -2x^2 + 6x + 4

(3x² + 8x - 7) - (5x² + 2x - 11) = -2x² + 6x + 4
-2x² + 6x + 4 is your answer
hope this helps
Note: 2 negatives = 1 positive
-7 - (- 11) = -7 + 11 = 4
