Multiple efforts to capture Vicksburg baffled. Strikes from the north were rejected. US Grant advanced his flocks south of Vicksburg on the reverse side of the Mississippi River. Then the North Navy made a courageous run through the rifles of the fortress with the transportation that would transport Grant's troops crossed the stream to attack Vicksburg from the eastwards and southwards.
