As Americans, it is our God given right to have our magnificent country extend from coast to coast (Atlantic to Pacific ocean).
The advocates of manifest destiny believed in something along those lines.

They believed that American settlers were destined to expand across North America. People also thought that it would bring independence and bring economic opportunity. I hope this helps!
