The polynomial to be factored is x^3 - y^3.

Use the notable quotient:

a^3 - b^3
-------------- = a^2 + ab + b^2
a - b

So, a^3 - b^3 = (a^2 + ab + b^2) (a - b)

And x^3 - y^3 = (x - y) (x^2 + xy + y^2).

Answer: x^3 - y^3 = (x - y) (x^2 + xy + y^2)
