The total points that is incurred through participation in this game is calculated by summing up the points made from the free throw line and those from half-court. If f represent the number of shots from the free throw line, the total points from these shots is 3f. Also, if h represents the number of shots made from half-court, the number of points made is equal to 6h. The equation therefore is,

P = 3f + 6h
