Faster running water has more force and can carry larger particles than slow moving water .

Answer: The velocity of water determines the size of particle it will carry along with it. The slow and steady flowing water cannot carry large sized particles with them because the velocity of water is less but when the velocity of water is more the large sized particles or even it can carry large objects.

Example: In case of flood, the velocity of water is more and it carries large objects that can cause destruction to nature and mankind.
