CONNECTIVE TISSUE can be described as relatively few cells suspended in a matrix. A connective tissue has the function of connecting, supporting, binding, or separating other tissues or organs. Asides the relatively few cells which are embedded in an amorphous matrix, connective tissues often contain collagen or other fibers, and also cartilaginous, fatty, and elastic tissues.
