The length is the longer side.

The longest side of each of the boards is 10 1/4 feet long.

You have two boards.

To find the total length add up both of their lengths.

Total length = 10 1/4 + 10 1/4 = 10 2/4 = 10 1/2 feet or 10.5 feet
