In the traditional phylogeny (a), the phylum platyhelminthes is depicted as a sister taxon to the rest of the protostome phyla and as having diverged earlier from the lineage that led to the rest of the protostomes. in the molecular phylogeny (b), platyhelminthes is depicted as a lophotrochozoan phylum. what probably led to this change?

The removal of the acoel flatworms or as called as acoela from the platyhelminthes permitted the enduring flatworms to be evidently tied to the lophotrochozoa. In addition, phylogeny is the history of the evolution of a species or group, particularly in place to lines of ancestry and relations among broad groups of creatures. Necessary to phylogeny is the scheme in which commonly recognized in the scientific community that plants or animals of different species inclined from common descendants. Most phylogenies therefore are hypotheses and are built on indirect evidence. There is universal arrangement that the tree of life is the outcome of organic descent from former descendants and that true phylogenies are discoverable at least in principle.
