A fire hits an old forest with large, old trees. a large section of the forest is burnt down. over many years, new, immature trees replace the old ones. how can the new area be characterized?

If the old trees which were burn down are now replaced by new ones, the new area can be characterized as a SECONDARY FOREST. A secondary forest is a disrupted woodland area which has re-grown such that the effects of the disruption are no longer evident.
