The main function of lipids in living things is to provide as the alternate source of energy from energy store, following behind carbohydrates.
In addition, lipids is also the component of cell membrane, they make up layers of the membrane. Lipids also function as an insulator to heat loss, that way living things can maintain a suitable temperature.
