Write the equation of the line in slope intercept form:

Points(-6, 0) (-3,-1) (0,-2)
I understand the concept but if I plug in the slope and x and y, I don't get -2 as the y intercept. I don't know if I'm over thinking it but I have y= -1/3x-2.

(-6,0)(-3,-1)
slope = (-1 - 0) / (-3 - (-6) = -1 / 3

y = mx + b
slope(m) = -1/3
(0,-2)...x = 0 and y = -2
sub and find b, the y int
-2 = -1/3(0) + b
-2 = b

so ur equation is : y = -1/3x - 2.....u got it right...and u did get -2 as the y int...because in y = mx + b form, the number in the b position is ur y int
