You need to make sure all of the equations are proportional and if not than it isn’t.

Answer:

The function represented in the table is linear.

Explanation:

From the given table it is noticed that function passing through the points (-3,-7), (-2,-4), (-1,-1), (0,2) and (1,5).

The slope or rate of change of the function is

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

The slope of function for each pair,

m_1=(-4-(-7))/(-2-(-3))=3

m_2=(-1-(-4))/(-1-(-2))=3

m_3=(2-(-1))/(0-(-1))=3

m_4=(5-2)/(1-0)=3

Since the rate of change is same for all pairs, therefore the function represented in the table is linear.
