36/12=3 mph
2(3) mph=6 mph
6 mph x 9 hours=54 miles covered by the son

Answer:

54 miles

Explanation:

v_(father)=36 miles / 12 hours = 3 miles/hours

v_(son)= v_(father)*2 = 3 miles/hour * 2 = 6 miles/hour

d=vt\\d=6miles/hour * 9 hours \\d=54 miles
