Answer:

In the late 18th century to mid 19th century the Europeans went to the pacific to trade fur.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • The French, the English, and the Dutch first went to America to trade fur in the eighteenth century.
  • These traders, after their trade in America saturated, later went on to explore trade opportunities in the Pacific.
  • They not only explored the trade opportunities there but also found out the existence of Seals and Otters on the Pacific coast which they could kill and draw the hides of, to produce more fur.

I don't know if you have any options, but I believe that the Europeans went to the Pacific to trade fur at the time. They went to America primarily in order to trade fur with the Native American tribes who lived there. The French, the English, and the Dutch were primarily interested in fur trade during those centuries.
