Answer: The flash drive costs $26.90 and the printer costs $198.60

Explanation:

If F is the price of the flash drive and P the price of the printer.

We know that:

F + P = $225.50

We also know that F = P - $170.70

where in the prices the taxes are included.

now we can replace the second equation into the first one.

F + P = P - $170.70 + P = $225.50

2P = $224.50 + $170.70 = $53.80

P = $26.90

and now

F = $225.50 - $26.90 = $198.60
