When a reader ________ the choices in the various versions of Hamlet, he or she is assessing the quality of them.

A. Adapts
B. Describes
C. Evaluates
D. Interprets

I chose C. Evaluate(s) however I am not sure if it's correct or not. My second option/choice would be D. Interprets. Anyone know for sure the correct choice of these options?

C sounds like the most liable answer

Answer: C. Evaluates

You are correct. Choosing "Interpreting" would not be necessarily wrong. However, interpreting refers to explaining the various versions. It is descriptive. However, "evaluating" implies that the reader is judging the quality or value or the different versions.
