-DNA is a complex molecule that is made up of other molecules known as nucleotides each containing a phosphate group, a sugar group and a nitrogen base.

-The nitrogenous bases are adenine, thymine, guanine and cytosine, it is the order of these bases that determines the DNA's instructions or what we call a genetic code. This characteristic of DNA makes it a unique molecules as the coded information is used to make proteins through the process of transcription and translation.
