Answer:

Corn syrup seems to be the best answer, as most of the rest of the options are either metals or things that sink in water. (minus cork and ice but we don't talk about them because they float in both)

glycerin, because it acts like an oil, have you ever mixed vegtable oil and water? the vegtable oil floats on top of the water... same with glycerin, its the same texture as vegtable oil
