Among the given choices, the one that could increase bad cholesterol in the body is the trans fatty acid or trans fat. It also lessens the good cholesterol in the body. Trans fatty acids are a result of the addition of hydrogen atoms to liquid fats to solidify them. Doing so increases the shelf-life.
